Mondo Liquid cultures allow you to inject millions of tiny spores into a sterilized solution where the mycelium will develop. Once the mycelium has developed in the vial, the hypodermic syringe is used to inoculate the substrate, creating magic mushrooms!

What are Liquid Cultures?

• A Liquid Culture is a sterile mixture of water and specific sugars (agave), which serves as nutrition for mycelium to grow.

• Our Liquid Cultures have been made to be easy to use. Check out how to use them here.

How long can I keep liquid cultures in storage?

• Before the colonization of the Liquid Culture, you can store it for up to 2 years. Once you colonize the Liquid culture you can store it in the fridge for up to 3 months. Best results were achieved in the first 2-3 weeks of receiving the Liquid Culture.

What are the best ways to store liquid cultures?

• The best way to store it for optimal results is in the fridge.

Why do liquid cultures come in different sizes?

• We offer liquid cultures in different sizes (5, 10 & 25ml) to accommodate to different substrate and grow sizes.

Which liquid culture size should I buy?

• This depends on the amount you want to grow. If you are using one of our large substrate boxes (2100), then we recommend you use one of the larger Liquid Culture sizes (25ml). If you are going for the small substrate (280), then you can use the smaller Liquid Cultures (5 or 10 ml).

What are substrates?

• Substrates contain the material needed by mycelium to colonize a kit. This is essentially what mycelium feeds off in order to fruit.

Are the Mondo substrates sterilized?

• The Mondo substrates are sterilized so that you do not have to do this process at home. 
  

Why do the substrates need to be sterilized?

• Substrates must be sterilized in order to remove unwanted microorganisms that could compete with the growth of your mushrooms, resulting in contaminations. 

What makes a good mushroom substrate? 

• The type of substrate can vary per mushroom species. The substrates we produce are typically suited for the Psilocybin Cubensis species.

Do the substrates contain mycelium?

• Substrates do not contain mycelium. However, you can purchase our spore vials, liquid cultures, or spore syringes in order to create your own grow kits.

Are substrates legal?

• Substrates are legal in most countries as they do not contain any psychoactive ingredients. However, please double-check that this is the case for your respective country.

What is the difference between the substrates and a grow kit?

• The difference between the two is that the grow kit comes colonized with a specific strain.

• The best way to store them is in the fridge. You can store them at room temperature too, but this will reduce its life expectancy.

 Do I need anything else with spore syringes to grow mushrooms?

• You will need a sterilised substrate to inoculate the contents of your spore syringe. Sterilised substrates can be bought here.

 Can I reuse the needle and syringes?

• Technically you can reuse the needle if you sterilise it, however we recommend getting a replacement needle.

What spore syringes are best for beginners?

• There is no specific spore syringe that is better for beginners. All of our spore syringes are easy to activate and use.

• The spore vials come with a syringe, needle, and alcohol swab. You also need a sterilized substrate to grow the mushrooms in. This can also be purchased on our website. 
  

 Can I reuse the vials, syringe and needle that comes with it?

• Technically you can reuse these parts, but this is not recommended as it can lead to poor results.

What do I do with the needle after using it?

• Once you are done with the needle, you must dispose of it safely.
