Every pack in this category is fresh, not dried. The truffles are harvested, vacuum-sealed and kept cold until they ship, which is why storage matters as much as the variety you choose.
What Are Magic Truffles?
Magic truffles are underground formations known as sclerotia, produced by specific psilocybin-containing fungi such as Psilocybe mexicana, Psilocybe tampanensis and Psilocybe galindoi. Unlike magic mushrooms, these truffles grow beneath the soil and develop as compact nutrient stores for the fungus.
Magic truffles naturally contain psilocybin, a compound that the body converts into psilocin after ingestion. Psilocin interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain and can temporarily influence perception, mood and sensory awareness.

"Trade name" means the name is used in the truffle market but is not a formally described species. You will sometimes see "Psilocybe utopia" or similar; no species by that name exists in the literature. Each variety is described in the magic truffle strain library. For larger quantities, the bulk packs come in 100 g and 250 g.

Microdosing Magic Truffles
Microdosing involves taking very small amounts of magic truffles to experience subtle cognitive and emotional effects without entering a full psychedelic state.
Typical microdoses range between 0.5 and 1 gram.
Popular Mondo varieties for this approach include Micromex, Mexicana and Tampanensis.
High-potency varieties such as Hollandia or Utopia are generally less suitable for microdosing due to their stronger concentration.
Magic truffles or magic mushrooms?
Both come from psilocybin-containing fungi, but they are different parts of the organism. A mushroom is the fruiting body that grows above ground to spread spores. A truffle is a sclerotium, a dense store of nutrients the mycelium forms below the surface. Psilocybe cubensis, the species in our grow kits, does not form truffles at all.
In practice the choice is between buying ready and growing yourself. Truffles are ready the day they arrive. Mushrooms you grow from a magic mushroom grow kit over a few weeks. How do you keep magic truffles fresh?
- Store the unopened vacuum pack at the back of the fridge at 2 to 5 °C, not in the door. The date on the pack applies to an intact, cold pack.
- Do not freeze fresh truffles. Ice crystals damage the moist tissue and thawed truffles turn soft and wet.
- Once opened, keep them in a clean, covered container in the fridge and use them promptly.
- A sour or rotten smell, or a slimy, collapsing surface, means they have spoiled. Throw them away.

Are magic truffles legal?
In the Netherlands fresh truffles are not covered by the Opium Act, which is why they are sold openly in smartshops. Dried mushrooms and psilocybin itself are controlled. In many other countries psilocybin truffles are illegal, and rules change. Check the law where you live before ordering.
How are magic truffles shipped?
Orders go out in plain packaging without logos or a description of the contents, with track and trace. We ship on working days except Fridays, so fresh truffles do not sit in a depot over the weekend. Delivery times and the countries we ship truffles to are on our shipping overview.
