Special Magic Mushroom Strains
Special magic mushroom strains are the less common Psilocybe cubensis varieties in our range: pale albino and leucistic types, Penis Envy genetics and a few modern selections with a look of their own. All seven come as a Large 1200 cc grow kit only. Most are rated advanced, so for a first grow, pick a classic from the top 10 magic mushroom grow kits instead.

What makes these strains different
All seven are Psilocybe cubensis, like our classic kits, and they use the same grow kit and the same routine. What sets them apart is their genetics and how they behave on the substrate.
- Albino and leucistic types. True Albino Teacher is a pale form from Golden Teacher genetics, and Yeti is commonly described as an isolation from the True Albino Teacher line. Strictly speaking, many so-called albino strains are leucistic: pigment is reduced rather than absent, so fruits range from white to cream, and blue bruising shows up clearly on the pale surface.
- The Penis Envy line. Penis Envy grows thick, dense, slow mushrooms with compact caps. Jack Frost is commonly described as a cross of True Albino Teacher and Albino Penis Envy, combining a pale colour with the dense Penis Envy build.
- Modern selections. Jedi Mind Fuck forms dense clusters with thick stems, Blue Ghost is named after its strong bluish bruising, and Hillbilly Pumpkin is a selection from the American Hillbilly line with round, pumpkin-like caps.

Who these kits are for
Advanced does not mean hard to start. The cold soak, the 150 ml of water in the filter bag and the 23–25 °C target are the same as for every Mondo kit. It means the strain is slower, less predictable and less tolerant of a cold room, a missed air exchange or too much handling. Penis Envy in particular is slow and dense and typically gives 2–3 flushes, fewer and smaller than a classic kit. Read how to grow Penis Envy before you start one.
- Second grow, looking for something different: Hillbilly Pumpkin or Jedi Mind Fuck, both rated moderate.
- Experienced, interested in pale strains: True Albino Teacher, Yeti or Jack Frost.
- Experienced, after dense Penis Envy-type fruits: Penis Envy or Jack Frost.
Because every kit here is Large 1200 cc, the heat mat choice is simple: the 7 W mat, with a silicone heat guard between mat and kit.

On our scale, yes: True Albino Teacher, Yeti and Jack Frost are all rated advanced. They tend to be slower and less forgiving than a classic such as Golden Teacher, so a stable temperature and clean handling matter more.
Which special strain is the easiest to grow?
Hillbilly Pumpkin and Jedi Mind Fuck, both rated moderate. The other five are rated advanced. If you have never grown before, Golden Teacher or B+ is a better first kit.
Which special strain has the strongest reputation?
Penis Envy and Yeti are commonly reported as very strong; Jack Frost, Blue Ghost, True Albino Teacher and Jedi Mind Fuck as strong. That is reputation, not a guarantee, and actual strength varies between mushrooms and flushes.
Do special strains need a different grow routine?
No. They use the same kit, the same cold soak and the same 23–25 °C target as every Mondo grow kit. The difference is patience and consistency: these strains react more to temperature swings, and the advanced ones are often slower to fruit.
