A Ready-to-Grow Bag is the most hands-off way to grow Psilocybe cubensis at home. Inoculation and incubation have been done in our lab, so the bag is ready to fruit the day it arrives.
What is in a Ready-to-Grow Bag?
- About 2.1 kg of fully colonized substrate in a transparent cultivation bag
- A breathable filter patch built into the bag
- A pre-cut upper corner for fresh-air exchange, covered by a resealing sticker
- An elastic band around the substrate that reduces side pins
The elastic band and the sticker are part of the system. Leave the band in place for the whole grow, and keep the corner closed until you see the first pins. Why the band matters is explained in side pins on a grow kit.

Do you need a heat mat?
Only if the room stays below 23 °C. The 7 W heat mat with controller is the one matched to the Grow Bag XL. Put a silicone heat guard between mat and bag so the substrate never sits directly on the heat.

No. The bag is ready to fruit as it is. Keep it closed until pins appear; only then do you use the pre-cut corner for fresh air.
It keeps the substrate close to the plastic so fewer mushrooms start growing along the sides. Leave it on for the entire grow.
There is no fixed number of days. Strain, temperature and light all play a part, and a bag below 23 °C is noticeably slower. Watch the bag rather than the calendar, and keep the corner closed until pins show.
Two to four in most cases, with later flushes usually smaller. There is no soaking between flushes: close the cut top with a clip and keep the same conditions.
No. The bag holds its own humidity. Spraying water inside raises the risk of bacterial problems.
That points to contamination. Do not open the bag indoors, take a photo and see how to identify contamination, then contact us.
